Weekly Update - October 14, 2012

Hi There!

Thanks to all you folks now following us on Twitter! We're a bit amazed at the number of people inviting us into their Twitter feeds. At this point we've got over 1,360 followers! Cheers, y'all!

Our new Weekly Music Poll invites you to spend a lunch with a departed rock star. Who would you choose to lunch with - John Lennon? Jimi Hendrix? Jim Morrison? Jerry Garcia? Kurt Cobain? I'd probably pick John Lennon, and Jerry Garcia would be my second choice. Or maybe Kurt Cobain, since we're the same age. Hmm... decisions, decisions.

In last week's poll we asked about your favorite music medium these days. Vinyl won out overall, with mp3's and CD's receiving votes. The late great cassette saw no love in this particular poll.

This week in music birthdays, the following folks are celebrating another year on this Earth -

  • Thomas Dolby (Sunday 10/14)
  • Justin Hayward (Sunday 10/14)
  • Richard Carpenter (Monday 10/15)
  • Bob Mould (Tuesday 10/16)
  • Bob Weir (Tuesday 10/16)
  • Flea (Tuesday 10/16)
  • Ziggy Marley (Wednesday 10/17)
  • Eminem (who turns 40!!!) (Wednesday 10/17)
  • Chuck Berry (who turns 86!!!) (Thursday 10/18)
  • Wynton Marsalis (Thursday 10/18)
  • Karl Wallingher (Friday 10/19)
  • Tom Petty (Saturday 10/20)
  • Norman Blake (Saturday 10/20)

Happy Birthday and thanks for the music! (edit - My sincere apologies for saying that Peter Tosh was "celebrating another year on this Earth." I remember when Peter was senselessly murdered and I hope he is having a peaceful rest. Friday, October 19 is the anniversary of Peter's birth. Thank you for the music, Peter.)

People who've been following us on Facebook and Twitter might have seen that we're in the process of re-mixing tracks from Roses For Sharon. Hopefully we'll have a buffed up re-release before the end of the year. We were aiming for the end of this month, but sometimes life gets in the way.
