Farewell 2012, Hello 2013!

Hello Everybody!

I hope you're enjoying the Holiday Season. Since I'm now teaching school and no longer working in retail, I'm enjoying a much-needed bit of time off. 'Course it's not totally "time off"; I'm trying to use the time to prepare the upcoming reissue of Roses For Sharon. I think I've covered this before, but I've never been happy with the original release of this album (the "Rob Christensen" version). So we're taking it apart at the seams and remixing the original multi-tracks. We're attempting to retain the original spirit of the album, but we're also trying to improve it. Hopefully we'll have it out to you before the Spring.

2012 has been quite a year for me. It was basically about tearing my musical / artistic world down to it's framework and rebuilding it. That started wtih giving a name, Saturday's Radio, to my musical projects. It continued with the building of this website, and followed with the remastering of the first three (of four) of my studio albums. Finally, the year saw Saturday's Radio plant seeds in various parts of the social media universe (Like us! Follow us! Listen to us!).

Hopefully 2013 will see the reissue of album #4, Roses For Sharon, during the first few months of the year. I'd also like to get a "best of" album out, one that would take songs from those first four albums. I'm also dying to get back to writing and recording. I'd love to get a new album out sometime in 2013. Finally, I'd like to return to playing live. At this point it would be solo-acoustic shows, but I'd sure like to play with other people, too. Last summer & early fall I was thinking about mounting some sort of tour next summer. We'll see what life allows.

Celebrating birthdays this week are:

  • Annie Lennox (Tuesday, December 25)
  • Shane MacGowan (Tuesday, December 25)
  • James Mercer (Wednesday, December 26)
  • Phil Spector (Wednesday, December 26)
  • Marianne Faithfull (Saturday, December 29)
  • Jim Reid (Saturday, December 29)

Happy Birthday to all!

We should have a new Saturday's Radio Survey up soon. Probably something about New Year's Resolutions. The last few Surveys haven't garnered much interest, but we haven't been able to spread the word about them as much as we'd like, either.

Guess that's about it for now. We'll bid you adieu with some food for thought:
